Travel Funding for the 2024 ADVANCE Equity in STEM Community Convening

About the Travel Grants

We are excited to offer travel support for up to 75 faculty, administrators, and employees to join us at the 2024 ADVANCE EiSCC! Each travel grant will cover airfare, ground transportation, per diem, lodging, and convening registration.

About the Convening

The 2024 ADVANCE Equity in STEM Community Convening (ADVANCE EiSCC) brings together a variety of change makers from higher education, professional societies, industry, government, and non-profits in an engaged exchange of knowledge, resources, and support to drive systemic change in STEM with a focus on intersectional gender equity for STEM faculty.

Attendees have an opportunity to share new research findings and exchange resources; brainstorm strategies; collaborate in novel ways; learn about avenues for funding; and demonstrate effective programs and interventions for greater collective impact.

Regardless of whether you have an NSF ADVANCE grant or not, if you are interested in driving systemic change in STEM, the ADVANCE EiSCC is for you!

Selection Criteria

Selection criteria will prioritize applicants who:

  1. are faculty, administrators, or employees from community and technical colleges, minority-serving institutions, or non-academic STEM equity-focused organizations,

  2. have little or no travel funding,

  3. have not attended a national ADVANCE PI meeting before,

  4. are engaged in work that advances intersectional gender equity in academic STEM, and/or

  5. belong to a marginalized social group or groups in STEM, particularly women and gender expansive applicants who experience additional forms of marginalization.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis and will close on February 28, 2024 at 5pm ET.

Awardee Notification

Awardees will be notified by March 8, 2024 at 5pm ET.

Awardees Attend 2024 ADVANCE EiSCC

Awardees will attend the 2024 ADVANCE EiSCC on June 2-5, 2024 at the Hilton Inner Harbor in Baltimore, MD.
